Christopher Donald Niles, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on August 9, 2026. Born on May 9, 1967, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Chris was the cherished son of Donald and Karen Niles.

Chris's formative years were spent in South Florida, where he graduated from Cardinal Gibbons High School in 1985. He continued his education at Georgia Institute of Technology, earning a bachelor's degree in 1989. His pursuit of knowledge led him to the New England School of Law, where he obtained his JD in 1992.

In 1990, Chris married his high school sweetheart and love of his life; Genevieve Clarke, and together they built a loving home filled with laughter, love, and countless cherished memories. Their union of more than 36 years was blessed with 6 wonderful children- Eve and Bill Landers, Luke and Ashley Niles, Clarke and Jessica Niles- and ten beloved grandchildren: Liam(6) Addison(5) Sadie(4) Ford(4) Isla(3) Genny Cait(3) Heidi Ann(3) James(1) Vera(1) Ellie Kay(1). His family was his heart and soul. He absolutely adored his grandchildren and was affectionately known to them as “Pappy,” perhaps his favorite name to be called. He was known to steal the grandkids away to take them shopping and sneak them sweets any moment he could. He boasted of his grandparenting tactics in the art of the bribe by always having tic-tacs or jellybeans should anyone start crying. He was the epitome of the perfect grandfather.

Professionally, Chris dedicated 15 years to practicing civil family law, where he was known for his integrity and truthfulness. He later transitioned to finance as a Senior Portfolio Manager. Chris's dedication to his profession saw him earn multiple certifications, including CFP, CIMA, CPWA, and RMA, reflecting his lifelong commitment to learning and excellence. At UBS his wisdom and honesty earned him the trust and respect of colleagues and clients alike.

Chris knew what he believed and was unapologetic and unwavering in his faith. He believed in absolute truth and was passionate about his convictions in the Lord. He sat on the board of “Reasons to Believe” and continued the mission to bring others to Christ by logic, truth and scientific evidence for Christ.

An avid Georgia Tech football fan, Chris’s enthusiasm for the game was infectious. He approached life with that same confident, hopeful spirit he brought to every football season, convinced once again that this would finally be Tech’s year to win it all. He knew that football was more than the game though- he used games as opportunities to invite and buy tickets for anyone that would come and meet up with college buddies to continue their lifelong friendships. Chris was an avid reader and excellent Bridge player although he most likely loved the fellowship with his friends more than any game of cards, he ever played.

Chris had an adventurous spirit; he traveled the world and through many waterways with his beloved Genevieve. He rarely said no to a new opportunity. His life was also marked by outrageous generosity. He delighted in slipping large tips to waiters and carrying the maximum allowable funds on missions’ trips just so at the end of the trip he’d be able to hand over a giant envelope to the pastor. He was famous for the “golden handshake” among his kids and slipped them $100 dollar bills anytime he bid them farewell.

Chris's legacy is one of generosity, kindness, and unwavering faith. He was a man of profound wisdom and a source of strength for his family and friends. Chris never knew a stranger and would always pick up the phone. His early departure from earth has left a hole in the heart of those who adored him. His family is confident that he is in the presence of Jesus, relishing eternity with his Savior.

A funeral service will take place on August 21, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Coral Ridge Presbyterian, located at 5555 North Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33308.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their support and prayers through this difficult time. They find solace in the words of Chris’ favorite verse 1 Timothy 6:12: "Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses."
