Danny E. Koester, affectionately known by many as “Miles,” 72, of Cape Canaveral, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on September 5, 2026.

Danny was born on September 28, 1953, in Toledo, Ohio, to Melvin and Marilyn Koester.

Danny was a proud United States Marine and went on to work in asphalt, paving, and construction. He was the life of the party—unapologetically himself, untamed, and never afraid to live life on his own terms. Danny was the guy who could make you laugh and the friend who was always ready to lend a hand.

Danny loved good company, good conversation, and enjoying cocktails with friends. He had a gift for making people feel welcome and never seemed to need much of an excuse to have a good time. Whether he was sitting around telling stories, sharing a laugh, or simply enjoying the company of those around him, Danny was happiest when surrounded by people he cared about.

He had a love for the open road and the freedom that came with riding his Harley-Davidson. He also loved good music and enjoyed growing fruits and vegetables to share with friends.

Danny will be remembered for his humor, generosity, loyalty, and larger-than-life personality. His absence will be felt in all the places where his laughter once filled the room.

Danny is survived by his children, Danny Koester, Jasin (Jodie) Foster, and Brittany Koester (Cam Korb); his grandchildren, Nate, Anthony, Nick (Sierra), Bella, Heaven, Konner, and Waylon; his great-grandson, Enzo; his siblings, Walt, Becky (Kevin), Robert, and Nancy; and many nieces and nephews and countless special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Marilyn Koester; his siblings, Nancy (infant sister), Butch, Melvin, Keith, and Debbie; and his nephew, Austin.

Danny lived life in his own way—with a big personality, an open door, a sense of humor, and a love for the people around him. He leaves behind memories that will be told for years to come, stories that will still bring laughter, and a lot of people who will miss having him beside them.

Ride easy, Danny "Miles" Koester. You will be missed, remembered, and loved more than words can say.
