Obituary

Danny grew up in Nash County, N.C. and was the third of 32 grandchildren. He was a regular, rowdy, country boy, full of mischief and curiosity! He loved his family. All of his younger cousins, nieces and nephews, all hero worshipped him! To them he was "Rebel, an outlaw and a bandit. The flowing black ponytail and movie star good looks, riding that custom Sportster, he had them all thinking he was like Paul Newman in "Easy Rider"

Being the grandchild of a sharecropper, he grew up running wild through the forest and fields and learned how to become an entirely different type of farmer. No one could grow a garden like Danny Boy, because he inherited Grandma Parker's green thumb!!

Danny was a Lineman by trade and worked the majority of his life, with the company to become Duke Energy.

Whatever he did, nor how worried he made Grandma, he was always the apple of her eye!

The ladies loved him and that's exactly why so many men didn't! Lol!

He had a rugged charm and easy smile that made him a real heartbreaker.

Danny didn't have an easy life, but he rode it with an ease that astounded the rest of us.

He was a legend that will become a myth to the new generations, coming behind. His story will never be forgotten. His legacy will live through all of us, in our stories and our hearts.

I know the streets of gold are roaring with the thunder of his Sportster, in a place where there is no pain. May he rest in the peace denied to us in this world.

Danny is survived by his one and only son, Justin Collins and wife, and two grandchildren and a huge family that will miss him everyday.
