Druid Gregory Deitch, age 72, peacefully passed while in Hospice House, Cape Canerval Hospital

Merritt Island, Florida, August 18, 2026. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Judith Deitch,

step son, Kevin, the pup Little Man Dillon, his three sisters, Drusilla, Lucinda and Deborah their families, and many cousins and other relatives and friends.

He was born and raised in Gettysburg, PA, where he attended high school. After graduating from

Gettysburg High School, he attended Villanova University, Philadelphia, PA where he earned a BS in Astronomy, then on to University of Utah earning a BS and MS in Meteorology. He was employed as a Research Meteorologist for AFTAC, Patrick Air Force Base, Florida which was later renamed Space Force AFB, Florida. He was a member of Suntree United Methodist Church, Melbourne, Florida and sang for the church choir, and worked in the Outreach Seniors Group – TNT, and sang with the Community Chorus, King Center, Melbourne, FL. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
