It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Girard (Jerry) Edgar Stanley, 77 of Rockledge, Florida, who departed this life surrounded by loved ones on November 14, 2025. Jerry's compassion, kindness and sense of humor made him a friend to all who knew him.

Born April 5, 1948, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was the only son of Robert Granville Stanley and Gertrude Florence Poterie. Jerry is survived by his wife, Lisa Shanahan Stanley, stepmother, Gaylene Stanley, his children, Shannon Stanley (Partner Zachery Navarro), Justin Stanley (Wife Renee Forbes), grandchildren McKenzie Barrial, Randon Barrial, Riley Barrial and Ava West. He's also survived by sisters, Roberta Stanley (James Welzien), Diana Stanley (James Parker), Joanne Stanley and a large extended family. Jerry lived in Florida for 46 years, moving to Central Florida in 1986. He was a member of the US Army Reserves and had an entrepreneurial spirit, owning several businesses including custom window coverings, home décor and medical supplies.

Jerry developed a passion for gourmet cooking later in life and enjoyed cooking for others. He enjoyed completing many home improvement projects over the years and readily shared the skills he learned , including from home improvement shows. Jerry will be remembered as an honorable man, son, big brother, husband, father and father figure to many. He will be cherished always by those who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held In January for family and friends. to honor an extraordinary man and the legacy of love and compassion he leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Blood Cancer United or the Children's Hunger Project of Brevard.
