GORDON PHILIP
WARD JR
Aug 29, 1962 — Aug 25, 2026
Gordon Philip Ward, Jr., 63, passed away peacefully at his home in Melbourne, Florida, on August 25, 2026. He was reunited with his beloved wife of 43 years, Debbie, in the same chair and spot where she passed away two years earlier.
Gordon was born in Glendale, Arizona, to Margie Ward and Gordon Philip Ward, Sr. Because of his father’s service in the United States Navy, Gordon moved around frequently during his childhood, living in several places, including Hawaii. While he experienced many different places growing up, Maine was always home to Gordon. He graduated from Oxford Hills High School, where he met the love of his life, Debbie.
After high school, Gordon joined the United States Air Force, where he proudly served for seven years. Gordon and Debbie married and began their life together during his military service, including his first assignment at Loring Air Force Base in Northern Maine. While living in Northern Maine, Gordon and Debbie welcomed their two children.
Following the closure of Loring Air Force Base, Gordon and his family moved to Melbourne, Florida, in 1994, where they would make their home.
Gordon went on to work as a facilities director for hospitals and assisted living communities.
More than anything, Gordon was a loving husband, devoted father, and genuinely fun person to be around. Anyone who knew Gordon would tell you that he knew how to have fun and make the people around him laugh. He had a knack for telling hilarious stories about his past, a great sense of humor, and a way of making even ordinary moments memorable.
Gordon loved country music, watching movies, spending time with his family, and riding his Harley. He loved the freedom and fun that came with being out on the road. He especially loved sharing laughs, creating family inside jokes, and making memories with the people he loved.
Gordon was a caring and involved father who never missed his children’s extracurricular activities and was always there to support them. He cherished his family and the time they spent together, creating countless memories filled with laughter, stories, and fun.
Gordon’s warmth, humor, and larger-than-life personality touched everyone who knew him. His stories, laughter, sense of fun, and the joy he brought to those around him will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Gordon is survived by his son, Gordon P. Ward, III, of Niceville, Florida; his daughter, Nicole Ward, of Boca Raton, Florida; his son-in-law, Tyler Coles, of Boca Raton, Florida; and his father, Gordon P. Ward, Sr., of Lovell, Maine.
