Jacob Nelson
Farrar
Mar 16, 2006 — Jan 18, 2026
Jacob Nelson Farrar, 19, of Port St. John, Florida, died January 18, 2026 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born March 16, 2006 in Rockledge, the son of Melissa (Austin) Cochie and Jered Farrar. He attended Viera Charter School, Jefferson Middle School and Rockledge High School completing his secondary education just prior to his death.
Jacob was a fledgling diesel mechanic most recently working for Titus Trucking in Downtown Titusville. He was the youngster in the shop, but Jacob regularly expressed his appreciation for the guys he worked with and for their acceptance of his youthful exuberance. When Jacob wasn't in the shop he was either in, on or underneath something with a motor with the grease and oil stained clothes to prove it. Jacob was known for his kind heart, devilishly handsome good looks and most importantly his selflessness to so many who loved him.
Jacob is survived by his parents Chris and Melissa (Austin) Cochie of Port St. John and Jered and Rhonda (Hirt) Farrar of Dunnellon; his sisters Anna Austin, Scarlette Cochie and Gera Blair. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Richard and Karen Austin, of Rockledge; and his paternal grandparents, Pennie and Dave Hitt of Cocoa; Virginia and Steven Cochie of Tiffin, Ohio; and Gary and Brenda Farrar of Pomona, Kansas. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Island Cremation and Funeral Services. Viewing hours will be Tuesday, January 27th from 1:30 P.M. to 4 P.M. for family and close family friends, as well as 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. for Jacob's many friends he was so close with.
