On November 2, 2025, James (Jim) Horace Hughes passed away peacefully at home.

Jim was born and raised in Panama City Beach FL. At 17 he enlisted in the USAF and retired after 20 years and 11 days. He then obtained a job with McDonnell Douglas which was later bought by The Boeing Company at KSC. He was a Corporate Trainer. He always said, "I love my job". He retired after 30 yrs.

We then decided to join the Merritt Island Moose Lodge where we both enjoyed volunteering whenever possible. Jim is survived by his significant other Mary Powers of 24 years, his two son's Jeffrey Hughes; Roger Hughes; and grandson Elijah Hughes. He also adored our two dogs Peanut and Butter and two cats Zippy and Patches. Jim loved food. He loved people. Jim never met a stranger. His favorite past times were; Fishing, Hunting, and being surrounded by Family and Friends.

A service will be held at the First Baptist Chapel 140 Magnolia Avenue, Merritt island Date: November 22, at 11am
