Celebrating the Life of James R. Morgan May 28, 1941 – May 16, 2026

James "Jim" R. Morgan passed away peacefully at home on May 16, 2026, surrounded by family. Born on May 28, 1941, in Lawrenceburg, TN to Jasper and Lillian Morgan. Jim lived a life rich in laughter, devotion, and community impact.

Known for his quick wit and trademark dry sense of humor, Jim had a unique ability to bring a smile to any room. He was a man of many titles—husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, coach, mentor, and friend—and he wore each one with pride and dedication. Whether he was guiding athletes on the field, mentoring colleagues, or sharing a joke with old friends, Jim's presence was a steady and comforting anchor for those around him.

Jim was a fierce supporter and fan of the Tennessee Vols and Cincinnati Reds. He loved gardening, fishing, camping, and playing golf, participating in the fair at Our Saviour's Church serving clams, oysters, and clam chowder and just plain commiserating.

At the heart of Jim's life was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen, with whom he shared a beautiful and inspiring 66 years of marriage. Together, they built a legacy of love that will span generations.

Jim's memory will be cherished and kept alive by his children: • Bill and his wife, Weatherly • Dan and his wife, Christa • Becky and her husband, Bob

Jim was also the proud grandfather of nine grandchildren: Andy, Zach, Natalie, Luke, Bobby, Dylan, Matthew, Wesley (dec.), and Bennett, as well as two great-grandchildren: Everett and Josie.

Jim's warmth, wisdom, and humor will be deeply missed by his family, former players, and the countless friends whose lives he touched.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Merritt Island, FL on June 13th, 2026, at 11:30am. For those who cannot attend in person, a livestream is available via
