Obituary

Born Jan A Larbalestrier, Jan met Wayne Patchin on Cape Cod during a blind date in 1977. In 1978, they married in Falmouth, Mass. She is the mother of 4 children (Geoff, Greg, Amy, Alex) with 8 grandchildren, and a wonderful wife for over 43 years to Wayne E Patchin, all of whom are still living, as well as her brother Mark (and Robin) Larbalestrier. She was preceded in death by her Father and Mother (Robert and Barbara Larbalestrier) and her brother Bobby Larbalestrier. She was a successful woman and when she set her mind on something, she pushed through to the end for everything she believed in. She was the owner of two successful businesses working alongside and contracting with the Department of Defense. Though not as active near the latter years, she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was always strong willed and fought for her kids and family and was very supportive of her children's choices or hobbies; she was a force to be reckoned with, fierce and bold, a person like no other. We hope that you carry this forward and know that you gave everyone you encountered a reason to remember you. Always proud of where she came from (Houghs Neck in Quincy, Massachusetts – "God's Country") and did not care what other people thought. She was always proud to be a "Neckah". One to prove everyone else wrong, from the time she had the brain aneurysm and stroke (2009) until her final days, she was a true fighter, we love her dearly and will miss her always. "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, As long as I'm living, my baby you'll be."

Jan my sister, A sister that I didn't know I had, until she found me and my brother and my mother. I remember the first time she called me and was asking me questions about my brother and mother and father. I told her that I would have to talk to my mom and get back to you. Well when my my mom talked to Jan and after my mom called me back, she was so happy, and the new journey began. We were all so happy and so eager to meet our new family, and what a great joy it was, like a miracle, all of you guys welcomed us into your family and I will be forever grateful. Since then my mom and our brother have left us and now my big sister, I am so thankful and humble for a miracle my sister and new family. Your loving brother for ever – Mark

Dear Mom, I know that you won't get to read this out loud, but we know that you are close by, watching over us. It has been difficult not seeing you knowing that you are a thought away and always in our hearts, we still wait for a call or text letting us know that you are on your way home. When we are home, it is quiet with a void there. Leaving behind your loved ones and friends, knowing that you were getting tired, and you were ready to leave us. We know that you are in a wonderful place now with family and loved ones that have decided to move on to the next stage in their life. Please know that when I took Miss Fluffy in to visit you and asked you to get better so that you could come home and you asked me "why", I knew right then that you were exhausted and tired of the fight, I told you that it was ok to go, that we will be fine and for you to sleep and rest. I hope that with your rest you will become stronger than ever. Love you forever

Dear Mom, The day I got the call saying you were gone; I knew something was off that morning. As I was missing home and reminiscing through forgotten memories, I came across an old picture of you when you were so healthy and practically glowing. It hurt knowing you were suffering, and it hurt knowing I was so far away. Knowing that you were always just a quick phone call away meant that I knew I could call at any time and you'd be there to talk with me and listen to how big your Pumpkin was getting and how many new things we've seen and done since our last conversation. We would reminisce about when we were home and how I was attached to your hip when I was little, and every moment you'd remind me how much you loved and missed me. Those last few months, I knew you were fading, and I regret not telling you more how much I loved you and missed you. My only wish is that I could've been there for you when you needed me most, but I know you wouldn't have wanted me to see you so tired. You would want me to remember you as the strong and fearless woman you were. I am proud to be called your Babygirl and I know you're watching over us and shouting your praises to your Pumpkin and watching her grow to be just as stubborn, strong minded, and sassy as you raised me to be. You were always such a bright light in the dark, and that flame will never be extinguished. I love you mom, to the moon and back.

Honey – I love you whole bunches and lots and the "MOSTEST" – your Ernie
