Joanne J
Sciulli
Aug 31, 1941 — Mar 14, 2026
JoAnne Jean Sciulli, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, at the age of 84, surrounded by her family.
Born August 31, 1941, in Hartford, Connecticut, to Ethel Parks Gale and David Arthur Weber, JoAnne was raised in Pittsburgh's Squirrel Hill neighborhood and graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School.
She began her career as a dental hygienist with Drs. Baraff and Meyers in Oakland, Pennsylvania, where her kindness and gentle nature put patients at ease. She brought that same care home, often reminding her children, with humor and persistence, about the importance of dental health.
On January 14, 1981, she married Felix "Phil" Sciulli. Together they built a life filled with love, first in Youngstown, Ohio, and later in Orlando, Florida, where JoAnne became a mortgage banker and helped many families achieve homeownership. They eventually retired to Suntree, Florida.
JoAnne and Phil shared 40 wonderful years together. She loved him "to the moon and back." Whether dancing, enjoying music and pasta dinners, or entertaining family and friends, they created a life centered on joy and togetherness. Even golf became something she embraced—especially after Phil gifted her pink clubs and a matching outfit. JoAnne had a special gift for making life feel celebratory. Holidays were magical, her home was always beautifully and boldly decorated, and her sense of style, bright, elegant, and uniquely her own, left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Above all, JoAnne loved her family. She often said her greatest accomplishment was giving everything she could to her children. She adored her grandchildren and treasured every moment with her great-grandchildren. In recent years, her cats, Thor and Lola, brought her daily joy and companionship. She is survived by her children, John (Colleen) Tielsch, Jeannie (Jim) Fox Craig, and Steven Michael Tielsch; her grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; her sister, Kande Frank; her brother, David (Mona) Weber; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Felix Sciulli; her parents; and her sisters, Corrine Ann Korn and Carol Nebel Panaia. JoAnne will be remembered for her warm heart, her humor, her faith, and the way she made everyone feel at home. She reminded those she loved to take life one day at a time and to cherish each moment. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Freedom Christian Center, Melbourne, Florida, followed by a reception in the social hall. Guests are invited to wear bright colors in her honor.
