Joanne Switts, 87, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, in 1938, Joanne moved to Central Florida in 1966 and made Brevard County her home for the past 60 years. She believed in working hard and spending time with family, devoting her life to her husband and children.

In her younger years, Joanne was quite the dancer. Always impeccably dressed and accessorized, she took great pride in presenting herself well and showing up looking like a million bucks. She had a deep love for animals and cherished the many pets she had throughout her life. In her later years, she found great joy in watching the river wildlife from her window and delighting in the birds, lizards, porpoises, and manatees. Joanne raised three children and retired early to care for her husband. Her devotion to caring for her family was unwavering, and she will be deeply missed.

Joanne is survived by her brother, Timothy Delmark; her son, Michael Sita; her daughter, Lora Jones (John Morales); five grandchildren, Alicia Slansky, Sean Jones (Stephanie Jones), Danielle Matson, Heather Orlen (Joel Orlen), and Marina Morales; and seven great-grandchildren, Samantha Slansky, Caden Jones, Bryce Jones, Jeremiyah Boyd, Dante Parker, James Orlen, and Jae Orlen-Ramirez.

She was predeceased by her parents, John Herchick and Pauline Griffith Delmark; her sister, Betty Adams; her husband, Kerry Switts; and her loving daughter, Lisa Sita.

A memorial service will be held on September 25, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Island Cremation in Merritt Island, Florida.
