John Paul
Arsenault
May 7, 1948 — Dec 10, 2025
John Arsenault passed away on December 10, 2025, after a courageous fight with cancer. He was surrounded by love, with his devoted wife, Lisa Arsenault, at his side—just as she had been throughout their 43 years of marriage and a lifetime of shared love.
John was born in May of 1948 in St. Paul, New Brunswick, Canada. He was one of ten children, growing up in a large family that helped shape his generous spirit and deep appreciation for connection and togetherness.
John proudly served in the United States Navy, a chapter of his life that reflected his dedication and strength. During his time in the Navy, he was one of the barbers aboard the ship—a role that sparked a lifelong passion and led to a successful career as a hairdresser for over 40 years. He later became a successful entrepreneur, owning and operating his own salons, where his warmth, talent, and easygoing nature made everyone feel welcome.
Known for his loving and caring heart, John had an unforgettable smile and a gift for bringing life to every gathering. He was a talented guitarist who played with several bands and found great joy in music, laughter, and celebration. He also had a deep love for the water and sailing, owning several sailboats over the years and thriving in the fun and friendly competition that came with it. He proudly raced, competed, and won sailing competitions, embracing the adventure, laughter, and freedom that life on the water brought him.
Above all else, John loved his family. Some of his grandchildren's favorite memories include making mud pies with Papa—moments filled with laughter, creativity, and simple joy that they will cherish and never forget. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Arsenault; his son, Christian Arsenault; Christian's girlfriend, Jessica Beecham; and his cherished grandchildren, Brody and Blakely, who brought him immense pride and happiness. He is also survived by his brothers: Leo of Massachusetts, Omer of Massachusetts, Romeo of Massachusetts, Clarence "Joe" of Connecticut, and Paul of Connecticut. He was preceded in death by his siblings Alcide, Stella, Norman, and Denis, as well as his parents, Maxime and Jeanne Arsenault.
John will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his kindness, music, and joyful spirit will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
