Johnny Franklin Lewis (Frank), a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, has lived a life full of purpose and passion. Born on October 9, 1932, in Oxford, Florida, and passed away on August 6, 2026 in Cocoa, FL. 

He was the cherished son of William and Bessie Lewis. His roots in Oxford shaped his early years, laying the foundation for a life marked by service, dedication, and love. Johnny's profound sense of duty led him to serve his country with honor as a member of the U.S. Navy for 8 years, specializing in air transport. This experience not only instilled in him a strong sense of discipline but also a deep-seated commitment to service that he carried with him throughout his life. After his military service, Johnny embarked on a fulfilling career that showcased his talents and work ethic. 

As a power generation mechanic and fireman at Pan Am Airways/World Services,Johnny demonstrated his skill and dedication. He ultimately concluded his career with Johnson Control at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, where he served as an HVAC mechanic, contributing to important projects for N.O.T.U. operations and forging lasting friendships with colleagues. 

Johnny’s professional accomplishments were only a part of the rich tapestry of his life. For 71 years, he has shared a loving partnership with his devoted wife, Michiyo. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories. As a father, Johnny was a guiding light to his daughter, Linda Chap(Michael), and son, Gerald Lewis (Susan), and a proud grandfather to four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. His extended family, including many nephews, nieces, and friends, have been blessed by his presence and unwavering support. 

An outdoorsman at heart, Johnny found joy in hunting, fishing, and gardening, pursuits that allowed him to revel in the beauty of nature, which he saw as a testament to God's creation. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he served his Savior, Lord Jesus, with devotion that inspired those around him. 

Johnny was a man of creativity, always pondering ideas and crafting unique creations. His generous heart and ready smile endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His life was a testament to the power of kindness, ingenuity, and love. The Lewis family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the VA HBPC care team and Hospice of Health First staff, whose compassionate care brought joy and comfort to Johnny during his time with them. As we celebrate Johnny's life, we hold dear the lessons he taught us and the love he shared. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide those who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held August 27, 2026, at 11:00AM in Pine Ridge Cemetery - Oxford, FL.
