Obituary

Kathryn "Katie" Bellnier was born November 12, 1935 in Auburn, New York, the daughter of Herbert K. Copley and Helen A. (Lavey) Copley.

In addition to her parents, Katie was predeceased by three brothers, Charles, George, Paul and two sisters, Anne and Jane.

Katie is reunited with her beloved husband, Edward Bellnier and son James Bellnier. She is survived by her sister Roberta (Bobbie) Bellnier and brother-in-law Paul (PB) Bellnier of Auburn New York, her children, Kris Bellnier and Dennis Bellnier; her grandchildren, Sean, Kathryn, and Siobhan Cairns, Jacqueline Pula, Matthew, Eddie, Noah, and Jonah Bellnier; her great-grandchildren Liam, Gavin and Kyrie Cairns, Simon and Daphne Pula.

She loved and was very close to her many nieces and nephews.

Katie grew up at 15 Grove Ave and was a 1953 graduate from Holy Family High School in Auburn. On November 3, 1956, Katie married Edward Bellnier and was married for 62 years. They moved to Florida in 1964. She loved living in Florida and lived in Carol City, Miramar, Babson Park, Crestview, Lake Wales, Dade City (Southfork) Brooksville, Cocoa, and finally Hampton Manor, Merritt Island.

Katie took great pride in her work and genuinely loved the careers she held throughout her life. Her first job was at the County Home in Auburn. The jobs that followed were Eastern Airlines for 23 years, Medical Secretary at Lake Wales Hospital, and 10 years as a cashier with Publix. A devoted Catholic, she served as a Eucharistic Minister at Saint Rita's Catholic Church in Dade City, Florida.

Katie will be remembered as a strong, gracious, and kind woman whose faith guided every part of her life. She found joy in traveling, reading, and holidays. She was delighted with casinos and playing cards.

Those who love her will miss the thoughtful greeting cards that faithfully arrived throughout the year, the boxes of homemade fudge she prepared for the holidays, and the sincere enthusiasm with which she celebrated their accomplishments. Her travels took her around the world as she visited loved ones stationed overseas or closer to home. Wherever she went, Katie's sweet nature shone through. She gave her family the enduring gift of faith in God. Her strength, kindness, and steadfast love will continue to guide them.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 1940 N. Courtenay Parkway, Merritt Island, Florida on August 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM

Following the service, a buffet and gathering will be held in the Divine Mercy Social Hall.
