Lisa Dawn "Mommy" Van Goey (Ring)

Lisa Dawn Van Goey, lovingly known as "Mommy," passed away on July 17, 2026, in Cocoa, Florida, at the age of 65. Born Lisa Dawn Ring on January 20, 1961, in Rockledge, Florida, she lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished connections. Lisa pursued her education at Brevard Community College, where she earned an Associate of Arts degree in foreign language and a certificate in music. Her passion for learning and creativity was evident throughout her life. She was a woman of faith who attended Cocoa Presbyterian Church and embraced Christian beliefs. Lisa found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved listening to the radio, spending time at the dog park, watching TV and movies, running errands with her daughter Aimee, and sharing moments with friends and family. Her kind-hearted nature and infectious laughter brought light to those around her. Lisa had a remarkable ability to make people smile and was never judgmental—a true testament to her loving spirit. Family was central to Lisa’s life. She is survived by her children, Matt Van Goey and Aimee Van Goey; her siblings Paul Ring, Curtis Ring, and Tami Ring; as well as many friends who were touched by her warmth and generosity. She was predeceased by her brother Matthew Ring and her parents James Paul Ring and Judy Ring. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, and she loved collecting angels, stuffies, and crosses. She also had a deep love of animals both cats and dogs alike. One of Lisa’s most treasured memories was being part of her daughter Aimee’s wedding last August. During this special time, she grew close to her son-in-law and his family—a bond that brought her immense happiness. Lisa’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and joy. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her. A private memorial service will be held at a later date to honor Lisa’s life. A Celebration of Li
