Obituary

Margaret B. Stanfield passed away on August 15, 2026, at the age of 86. She was born August 2 1940, in Blakley, GA, to Lee Hemrick and Ruth Lee Chapman.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Herbert A. Stanfield, her devoted son Herbert A. Stanfield Jr., her mother and father, her sisters Patricia Zeigle, Wilma Jean Chapman and Jerri Feola, her brothers Phil Chapman, Paul Chapman and Jimmy Duett, many extended family and cherished friends.

She leaves behind her daughter Karen Naylor, daughter in law Chelsea Stone, her grandchildren Tara Marie, Nikki (Derick), Tara Leigh (Paul), Joshua and Phillip, great grandchildren Audrina, Lucas, Lilly and Ellie, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She moved from Georgia as a young girl and grew up in Lake Wales, FL surrounded by a big loving family. She had a unique bond with her sibling and loved spending time with them. The whole family would gather for holidays, special occasions and cook outs, always plenty of laughter and love.

She married the love of her life in 1959, and had two children whom she adored. They moved to Merritt Island in 1967, built a wonderful life together full of love and laughter, great friends and many happy memories. The love they shared was special, rare and unconditional. They faced all life’s joys and sorrows together and adored each other for 63 amazing years.

She was a great mom, always kind and patient, loving and supportive every step of the way. Her love and pride knew no bounds. She was an even better grandma. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she spoiled them with all the love and attention she could give.

Margaret worked several jobs through the years including Cooks Dept. store in Merritt Island, where she excelled and became a department manager. Then worked at McDonnell Douglas for 10 years, she loved her work and made some lifelong friends. She finished her career at their family business, and work beside her husband, son and daughter until she retired.

Margaret was warm and caring, had a heart of gold and was loved by all that knew her. She will be deeply missed.

There will be a graveside service on Saturday August 22, 2026 at 11:00 AM, at Cocoa Memorial Park 320 Spring St., Cocoa, FL
