Marion William "Billy" Meyer

Marion William "Billy" Meyer, age 90, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026. He was born January 31, 1936, in Decatur, Alabama.

Billy proudly served in the United States Navy, entering active duty in December 1955. He was stationed in Oahu, Hawaii, where he worked as a sheet metal worker specializing in naval aircraft. Billy was honorably discharged in November 1959.

After his military service, Billy moved to Rockledge in Brevard County, Florida, where he worked Civil Service at Patrick Air Force Base for more than 20 years.

Billy built a life in Brevard County. He was known as a man of God and a member of Faith Baptist Church in Rockledge. He loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed airboating, hunting, and fishing, often sharing those adventures and stories with friends and family. Proud of his Alabama roots, he could often be heard cheering "Roll Tide!"

Billy was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Wayne Meyer. He is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Bettie Meyer; his children, Bill (Carol) Meyer and Tamara (Jason) Duhamel; his brother, Doug Meyer; and his sisters, Marty (Cecil) Stephens and Theresa (Charles) Carpenter. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Lauren (Noah) Hall, Leanna Meyer, Destany Rucker, Shelby Rucker, Zachary Duhamel, Cheyenne Meyer, and Austin Duhamel; and his great-grandchild, Dominic Anderson.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on March 31, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend.

A faithful servant of God, he now rests peacefully in the arms of the Lord.
