Murray Dean
Boutilier
Sep 3, 1944 — Jun 23, 2026
Murray Dean Boutilier, 81, of Rockledge, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026.
Murray is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Donna Wilber Boutilier; his sons Corey and Todd Boutilier; his daughters-in-law Patricia and Betina; and his cherished grandsons Jasper, Oliver, and Charles. He is also survived by his brother Chet Boutilier of Port Townsend, Washington. He was predeceased by his brother Peter and his sisters Joanne, Judy, and Kit (Alice).
Born in Portland, Maine, on September 3, 1944, Murray graduated from Houlton High School in Houlton, Maine, and the Franklin Institute of Boston. After serving in Vietnam as a decorated Military Policeman with the 716th Military Police Battalion, stationed in Saigon, he made his home in Southington, Connecticut. There he owned and operated Modern Pest Control and Home Check Home Inspections. He served as President of the Southington Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Board of Tax Review, and was a member of the Contractors Association of Central Connecticut. He was also a proud member of the Masonic Lodge of Meriden and the Newington Shriners.
An entrepreneur, lifelong learner, and early adopter of technology, Murray wrote and sold software for the TRS-80 during the early days of home computing and proudly carried one of the first cellular phones. He was a frequent guest speaker at stock market investment clubs, where he enjoyed sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with others.
In retirement, Murray and Donna enjoyed splitting their time between their homes in Rockledge, Florida, and Northfield, New Hampshire.
Murray approached life with boundless curiosity and enthusiasm. Murray loved camping, restoring classic cars and boats, fishing, pulling lobsters from Long Island Sound, playing disc golf, and exploring America with Donna in their motorhome. Whether he was building a home, writing software, teaching someone about investing, or telling a story that had everyone laughing, Murray's generosity, wisdom, and infectious sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 2265 North Harbor City Blvd, Melbourne, FL 32935
