PATRICK BENNETT McGINNIS Patrick "Pat" Bennett McGinnis passed away unexpectedly on May 6, 2026, in Titusville, FL.

Born on September 8, 1996, in Twin Falls, Idaho, Patrick was the beloved son of Deborah Ann Ely and Shawn Robert McGinnis.

Patrick was a kind soul with a great sense of humor. He was also fortunate enough to live in and experience several states during his lifetime including Idaho, California, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, and Florida. He graduated from Permian Basin High School and went on to work in the Texas oil fields alongside members of his family. Dedicated and hardworking, he later pursued further education in occupational health and safety, earning his OSHA Safety Professional certification through OSHAcademy.

Patrick lived a life rooted in family, loyalty, and service to others. He spent time working alongside his father on the family ranch in Idaho before returning to Florida, where he made his home during the last several years of his life. During that time, he devoted much of himself to helping care for his grandparents, always willing to lend a hand wherever needed. Whether repairing vehicles, fixing things around the house, or simply showing up when family called,

Patrick could always be counted on. His kindness, sense of humor, lightheartedness, steady presence, and generous heart touched everyone who knew him.

Patrick shared a special bond with his beloved lab, Sarge, who was his constant companion. Their connection brought him great joy and comfort these past several years.

Those who knew Patrick will remember his adventurous spirit, his love for family and friends, his willingness to help others, and the quiet strength he carried through life. His passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who loved him.

He was preceded in death by several beloved grandparents, great-grandparents, cousins, and extended family members who welcomed him home in Heaven. Patrick is survived by his mother, Deborah Ely; bonus father, Michael Ely; father, Shawn McGinnis; bonus mother, Susie McGinnis; his grandparents Ben and Paula Johnson; his siblings, Justin McGinnis (his wife Rachel and their children) and Crystin Johnson; plus many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

A Celebration of Life will be held Labor Day Weekend, September 5–7, 2026, in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Additional details will be shared with family and friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to help place a tree, bench, and memorial plaque in one of Patrick's and Sarge's favorite parks in Cocoa, Florida, in honor of Patrick and the joy he found in nature, family, and companionship.
