Richard "Dick Cornwell 85, of Cocoa Beach, Florida passd away peacefully on September 27, 2026.

Born on November 6, 1940 in Washington, D.C., son of the late Richard Cornwell & Elva Cornwell.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Helen Cornwell:His two children Richard "Todd" Cornwell and Christine Cornwell; Grandchildren, Kaley, Jewell, Bobbie , Carson, Ethan, Bella; Great -grandchild Carter; and brother Donnie Cornwell

Dick founded C&C Automotive in 1972, a towing and collision repair business that became an important part of his life and his service to the community.

He loved driving a tow truck and was especially proud of completing difficult recoveries of vehicles and tractor-trailers. Dick could tell stories for days about the many recoveries he handled for the Florida Highway Patrol, Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, and especially the Cocoa Beach Police Department and Cocoa Beach Fire Department. He took great pride in being there when people needed help, often responding to challenging calls and doing whatever it took to get the job done.

Dick was a proud resident of the community for more than 54 years. Through his work, his willingness to help others, and the relationships he built throughout the years, he left a lasting mark on the community he loved.

A Celebration of Life honoring Dick will be held on Sunday, November 8, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Cocoa Beach Country Club.

Family and friends are invited to come together to remember Dick, share stories, celebrate his life, and honor the man who meant so much to so many.
