Robert Edward
Remscheid
May 21, 1957 — Jan 14, 2026
Robert "Bob" Remscheid, 68, of Merritt Island, Florida, passed away on January 14, 2026.
Bob was born on May 21, 1957, in Schenectady, New York, to Constance and Carl Remscheid. He graduated from Scotia-Glenville High School in 1975, where he was affectionately known by his nickname, "Ramp."
Following graduation, Bob proudly enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. He was stationed aboard the USCG Cutter Sherman in Boston, Massachusetts, and later in Alameda, California. After his military service, he continued his life at sea with the Merchant Marines, serving on the U.S. Navy research vessel MONOB (YAG-61) based out of the Everglades.
In 1989, Bob began a long and dedicated career with Sea Ray Boats. He was instrumental in the construction of the Sykes Creek manufacturing facility and later transitioned into the Product Development and Engineering Division, where he served as Maintenance and Safety Supervisor. Bob cared deeply about his coworkers and was known for his unwavering commitment—always ready, day or night, to ensure the safety and well-being of both his team and the facility.
Bob was a brilliant and inventive mind, an avid reader, and a lover of classic films. He enjoyed traveling, but nothing brought him more happiness than being at home with his beloved wife.
He brought warmth, loyalty, and a steady presence to everyone fortunate enough to know him. Bob had a remarkable way of making others feel welcomed, supported, and cared for. His kindness, generosity, and sense of humor will leave a lasting impression on all whose lives he touched.
He is survived by the love of his life, Lynette Remscheid; his daughters, Tara Scaglione (Michael) and Jennifer Nolan (Michael); and his cherished granddaughters, Adalyn Scaglione and Harlowe Nolan. He is also survived by his sister, Connie Remscheid; his brothers, Carl and Emil Remscheid; his sister-in-law Carol Remscheid, dear friends Grant and Peggy Marlowe; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Constance and Carl Remscheid, and his grandson, Riggins Nolan.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held for friends and family on April 18, 2026, at The 101 on Plumosa in Merritt
