Rosemary Paula
Johnson
Mar 27, 1942 — May 21, 2026
Rosemary Paula Johnson was born in Fort Pierce, Florida, on March 27, 1942, and passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026. She was the daughter of Ursula Arnold, who worked for the Miss Cape Canaveral at Port Canaveral, and William Arnold, a commercial fisherman. Paula spent most of her childhood in Florida, living in White City and later Cape Canaveral, where she eventually met the love of her life, Ben Johnson (a Naval Veteran).
Paula and Ben shared 63 wonderful years of marriage together. Over the course of their lives, they lived in six different states before retiring back to Florida in 2015. For 30 years, they made their home in Pleasanton, CA, where Paula helped operate the family's high-tech business while also growing a small orchard in her backyard.
Paula had a deep love for her family, friends, dogs, cooking, baking, gardening and collectibles. She especially enjoyed road trips, visiting national parks across the country and her favorite travels were to Hawaii and Scotland. During her years in California, she became active in the Boxer Club community, where she bred, showed, and raised championship Boxer dogs. Later, she devoted herself to Boxer rescue, helping find loving homes for hundreds of dogs.
Paula is survived by her devoted husband, Ben Johnson; her children, Debby Ely (Mike), Kim Slosek (Todd), Thomas Johnson (Karlee), and Crystin Johnson; her siblings, Fran Cousins, William Arnold, and Erna Russell; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Patrick McGinnis, as well as her siblings, Ella Witt and Calvin Arnold.
Paula will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on May 31 at the Solano Lake Clubhouse.
