Sharon Barber Greear passed away peacefully on July 13th, 2026 in Rockledge, Florida. She was born in Bartow, Florida to Don and Frances Barber.
Sharon started her career at the University of Florida as an administrative assistant to the Director of the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences. After a stellar career at UF, Sharon went on to work at Shands Hospital for the Director of Cardiology in Gainesville, Florida. She worked for Boeing Aerospace at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center helping to prepare payloads for launching on the Space Shuttle. She later became the budget analyst for an Engineering Support contractor. She received numerous awards for her many contributions to manned space flight.
As an avid scuba diver and dive instructor, Sharon explored many dive sites in Florida and throughout the Caribbean. She loved all things Florida, Florida history and was a lifelong fan of NASCAR and the Florida Gators. She is survived by her husband John, her brother Ken, her son Aaron, her grandson Garrett, her niece Joy Lynn, her nephew Don, and numerous extended family members.
