Obituary

Thelma Kay (Cosgray) Jacobsen (9/7/1939-5/31/2026) passed away while recovering from surgery after suffering a fall. Kay was born and raised in Hundred, WV, by her parents (Lottie and Hugh Cosgray) with her 7 brothers and sisters (John, Norma, Louise, Doris, Don, Martha, and Steve). She was very proud of her academic achievements in her younger years. She later moved to Massachusetts, where she met and married Ralph Jacobsen. During their 19-year marriage, Kay enjoyed ceramics, sewing, baking, bowling, and square dancing, as well as many skiing and camping trips they often took with family and friends. Kay worked tirelessly, and with great pride and dedication, in her many roles within the auto glass replacement industry. She worked as a Franchise Marketing Manager until she retired at 81 years old. She is survived by her two daughters, Arlene Mossa (Pete), and Wendy Jacobsen (Stephen Wholey), and was a beloved grandmother to Max and Haley Mossa, and Julia and Vivian Wholey, and aunt to many nieces and nephews. She very much enjoyed teaching her grandchildren to bake, sew, and craft, and proudly attended their numerous dance recitals, sporting events, and competitions. A celebration of life service will be held in Massachusetts in the near future.
