Obituary

Timothy Edward Pemberton, 63, of Merritt Island, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.

Born in 1962 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, to Robert Henry Pemberton and Juanita E. Weaver Pemberton. Tim grew up in Cocoa, Florida, and graduated from Cocoa High School. As a child, he spent as much time as possible outdoors, embracing nature and creating lifelong memories with his friends often getting into the harmless mischief that kids do.

Shortly after high school, Tim met the love of his life, Brenda. He wasted no time proposing, and at age 21, they were married, building a beautiful life together filled with love and family.

Married for 42 years, Brenda and Tim's love stood as an anchor for the family inspiring future generations to value family, loyalty and love.

Tim proudly served as a Deputy Sheriff with the Brevard County Sheriff's Office for 33 years, rising to the rank of Lieutenant. He worked in many units throughout his career and spoke fondly of his time on the SWAT and TACT teams. His commitment to protecting and serving his community left a lasting legacy of professionalism and dedication.

Above all, Tim was an extraordinary father to his four sons, Travis, Kyle, Sean, and Robby. He instilled in them core values such as integrity, honesty, hard work, and respect. These lessons came not just in words, but through his actions: leading by example in his career and daily life, and through shared experiences. Family vacations to Lido Key filled with laughter, hunting trips that taught perseverance and responsibility, Indian Guides which taught the value in the Father Son relationship, and baseball tournaments all strengthened their bonds while shaping the men they became. His unwavering guidance, support, and love made him a true role model to his boys. As the boys became adults and created families of their own, Tim became more than just a father to them. He was their friend, their number one support system, always rooting for them to succeed.

In his later years, Tim delighted in being a grandfather to his three wonderful granddaughters, Raegan, Josie, and Prescott, sharing his gentle spirit and love with the next generation.

Tim is survived by his devoted wife of 42 blessed and loving years, Brenda Pemberton; his four sons, Travis (Kayla), Kyle (Jordan), Sean (Madison), and Robby (Lexie); and his three beautiful granddaughters, Raegan, Josie, and Prescott; and his two sisters, Tamara (Curt) and Twyla. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Henry Pemberton and Juanita E. Weaver Pemberton; and his brother Robert Henry Pemberton Jr.

A celebration of Tim's life will be held on January 3, 2026, at KARS Park in Merritt Island, Florida. More details to follow.

In lieu of flowers, Tim requested that donations be made to a charity supporting sick children, such as St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, or another of your choice.
